Nene’s Restaurant & Bar opened its doors to the public the first week of April, bringing an authentic and unique dining experience to Tampa. The restaurant’s motto, “Authentic, Unique, & freshly-cooked meal,” reflects its commitment to serving fresh and delicious cuisine.
Nene’s Restaurant & Bar focuses on dishes from two distinct and flavorful cuisines: Ukrainian and Georgian. This combination is a first in the States and promises to be a delightful culinary adventure for all who visit.

The restaurant’s inspiration comes from Mekhpara, affectionately known as “Masha,” who is the mastermind behind the concept. The name “Nene’s Restaurant” was a referral from her daughter, and it’s a nod to her grandmotherly presence and warm hospitality. In Azerbaijani, “Nene” means grandma, and that’s precisely the kind of welcoming atmosphere that Nene’s Restaurant & Bar aims to create.
Nene’s Restaurant & Bar is located at 4328 West El Prado Blvd and promises to be a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a unique and authentic dining experience.
You can follow the restaurant on Instagram to learn more about daily specials, and more menu items. On dish you need to try when you visit is shakh plov. Also called shah plov and khan plov, it translates to “crown pilaf”. Basmati rice is half cooked in a large pot of water and then placed into a pot lined with lavash that’s been drenched in butter. It’s a feast for the eyes.
Other must try items include beef samsa, and a Georgia cheese bread called Adjaruli Khachapuri. It is considered one of Georgia’s national dishes, and once you taste one bite of the soft and crusty bread, covered in cheese, you’ll know why.
