A new stripped down counter service concept featuring tasty treats from local farms is set to join Tampa’s waterfront food hall. Welcome to Sparkman Wharf, Naked Farmer!

Naked Farmer will officially open on Friday, July 10, joining the eclectic culinary community at Sparkman Wharf. The concept opened its first location in downtown St. Petersburg a few months ago to local acclaim.

Chef prepared meals form locally-sourced ingredients

Naked Farmer offers locally-sourced food, made by chefs, served with hustle and overall “unmessed-with deliciousness.”

Located in the dining garden at Sparkman Wharf, Naked Farmer will be open for walkup and order ahead, delivery, and catering via their website.

Naked Farmer’s mission is to become 100% local. The menu features high quality farm-fresh food cooked from scratch, with an emphasis on fresh vegetables that were harvested as little as 24 hours ahead of being served. Meals start at $10.

Joining the waterfront food hall

“We are honored to be joining the community of Sparkman Wharf,” said Naked Farmer Founder Jordan Johnson in a release. “We look forward to bringing fresh food at an affordable price point to the community, while working with local farms across the state to build a better food system.”

Johnson hopes to build a local supply chain with farms in Florida and the greater Southeast region. This local supply chain creates a sustainable model that can support the community with the fresh vegetables they need, day in and day out. Sample menu items include Pecan Kale Caesar, Red-Wine Braised Short Rib, and Watermelon Mint and Feta Salad – each grown from farms nearby.

“Complementing the continued success of Sparkman Wharf’s vibrant dining garden, Naked Farmer will offer another exciting dining option for residents of Tampa and the surrounding communities,” said James Nozar, CEO of SPP. “As we continue building a diverse mix of restaurants and retailers throughout Water Street Tampa, we’re excited to welcome this healthy restaurant and to be home to another local venture’s first Tampa location.”

Produce boxes available for delivery

Naked Farmer at 615 Channelside Drive open Tuesday – Wednesday 11am- 9pm, and Thursday-Sunday 11am-11pm. In addition to the Tampa location, Naked Farmer has a location in St. Petersburg and offers farmers boxes for delivery, featuring a selection of 8-10 seasonal vegetables from farms close to home.
