Mojo, the beloved USF-area bookstore, is hosting an event to celebrate Record Store Day.
This Saturday, April 13, is Record Store Day. Mojo Records is pulling out all the stops to celebrate one of their favorite holidays. Doors open at 8:00AM with the store’s first ever $1 Vinyl Sidewalk sale starting at 8:30. They will have more than 2500 $1 records for guests to search through.
For those of you who love a good queue, hop in line before the doors open for your chance to win former RSD releases and more. If you’re really ahead of the game, the first 10 people in line get a free shirt and a free drink of choice from the coffee bar.
The store is also running a buy 2, get 1 free sale on CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays, and Music Books and with every purchase, Mojo is giving out a Record Store Day goodie bag.
If you want to check out some local artists, Mojo is hosting 7 artists starting at 4:00PM and with a new artist every hour. So, listen to some great music and enjoy a free PBR (while supplies last) on the house.
As far as food goes, Uncle Mince’s World Famous Seitan will be serving up some delicious snacks. Mojo will keep their Record Store Day tradition alive by hosting the vegan bake sale to help homeless animals. How can you say no to such a cruelty-free tradition?
In 2007, Mojo began selling mostly used books with some cds and vinyl from their pop-up show stock and personal collections. Now, the Tampa Bay’s largest independent book and record store has expanded and developed a local coffee bar as well. They are a part-time show venue, full-time coffee bar, and the best trade-and-sell book and vinyl store in Tampa Bay. In short, Mojo is the perfect escape for everyone.
What a better way to celebrate a love for vinyl and small businesses than with the Mojo family? How do you plan to celebrate? Let us know in the comments!
