KC-135 refueling tankers from MacDill will perform a flyover of Tampa Bay this week

Look to the skies this Friday, Tampa. A pair of KC-135 refueling tankers from MacDill’s 6th Air Refueling Wing and 927th Air Refueling Wing will perform a flyover of the regions major medical centers to celebrate and honor our essential workers, according to a report from Fox 13.

It was initially reported last week that the Blue angels would fly over Tampa, but unfortunately that didn’t come to fruition. They perfumed flyovers in Jacksonville and Miami.

This Friday, two KC-135 Stratotankers will fly out from their base and set on a path flying over 12 medical centers in Tampa Bay.

The tankers will launch from MacDill around 10:30am and head south towards the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, according to a report from Fox 13.  After a short delay, the formation will head back north along the bay, turn south and follow I-75 to Sarasota, and then turn north through St Petersburg before returning to the base over downtown.

They will fly over these 12 hospitals and medical centers along their route:
