Duck Race is the ultimate spectator sport in Tampa Bay

Tampa Kiwanis Club has been helping children in the local community since 1919. Members of the organization continue to find creative ways to serve the needs of children in the Tampa community. They build ramps for the disabled, hold immunization events, purchase holiday gifts for kids in need, provide scholarships and work with leadership clubs in school at the middle school, high school and college levels.

Kiwanis members also build reading rooms in Boys and Girls Clubs all around Tampa. The organization also provides grants to local nonprofit organizations.

Keeping the river safe during the duck race

Concerned residents will be pleased to know that Kiwanis has partnered with a company that runs these races all around the world. These organizations have taken measures to be sure that these ducks are not a threat to the city’s waterways.

The ducks will be contained in a lane and funneled to the finish line. They will have several boats and volunteers on hand to help make sure all of the ducks are collected and accounted for.
