The Hyppo, Vine Bakery Open in Tampa


It’s a good time to be a foodie in Tampa — especially if you have sweet tooth. There are two new spots that plan to officially open their doors to the public on Saturday, Jan. 21. From gourmet ice pops to fresh baked croissants, here’s what not to miss in the city.

The Hyppo Arrives in Hyde Park

Hyde Park is the place to be in Tampa right now. The Village features the best in retail (Juxtapose, lululemon, Surf Outfitters, Shade Store, Suit Supply, Vineyard Vines) and dining (Sprinkles, barTaco, Piquant, GoodyGoody, On Swann) and they’re just getting started.

For months area residents have waited for the official debut of The Hyppo in their neighborhood. The ice pop shop made its Tampa Bay debut with openings on the 600 Block of St. Pete and in Ybor City in 2016. Their list of eclectic flavors have made them a staple treat in Florida. With the endless summer season in our city, it’s not hard to figure out why.

The Hyppo (702 South Village Circle) opens at 11am on Saturday, Jan. 21. We recommend you experience their dark roast espresso and pineapple cilantro pops on your next visit.

The Vine Baking Co

Tampa is for dessert lovers. The Vine Baking Co (3201 South Dale Mabry Highway) has been baking sweet treats for the Tampa community for months and now they’re looking to set their roots in South Tampa. We have to credit our friends over at HiddenTampa for introducing this delicious business to us.

Visitors will be able to indulge in croissant pretzels, leige waffles — dense, chewy and caramelized brioche waffles — along with bagels, doughnuts and cupcakes made with farm fresh ingredients. You can view a full menu on their website.

They’re replacing the former Library Coffeehouse. Vine Baking Co’s eye- and stomach-pleasing creations have added new flavor to the city of Tampa for some time and we’re excited to be able to visit them on a daily basis at their permanent location.
