Himes Breakfast House is our new morning obsession at 3826 South Himes Avenue. This brand new Tampa restaurant features griddle specialties like thick cut French Toast topped with fresh fruit, and savory buttermilk pancakes — and huge thanks to Creative Loafing for putting this spot on our radar. You can read their story here.
In addition to traditional favorites, this restaurant also offers up hearty Country Fried Steak with sausage and gravy, and a morning bowl with vanilla Greek yogurt, fresh granola, banana, and blueberry poppy maple syrup.

If you’re in the mood for big old fashioned biscuits, and a wide array of eggs Benedicts, then you’re in the right place. For those with a sweet tooth, consider the banana split waffle your new go-to menu item.
The restaurant originally opened at the end of December, and it’s now a celebrated part of South Tampa.
Family-style breakfast arrives at Himes Breakfast House
Himes Breakfast House, according to the owners, pays homage to the spirit of good friends and good food. They sough to create an environment where everyone knows your name.
The kitchen is dedicated to the tradition of scratch-made cooking, making the most important meal of the day for your table as well as our own.
This means the portions here are perfect. Extra-large eggs, premium thick-cut bacon, hand-cut vegetables, twice-baked home fries, locally-baked breads, and real butter make your meal at Himes Breakfast House one you’ll come back for — I know I will.
