Hard Rock tops out 15-story hotel tower as part of $700 million expansion

We’ve hit the jackpot. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino topped out its planned 15-story hotel tower. Once complete, which could be as soon as mid-2019, the hotel concept will expand overnight options for visitors, and further grow its already robust selection of slot machines.

The final beam was hoisted to the top of the hotel’s framework, and it enjoyed quite the journey en route to the construction site. The beam was transported to the Seminole Tribe’s Brighton, Immokalee, Big Cypress and Hollywood Reservations over the past month to allow members of the Tribal community throughout Florida the chance to sign it as a way to share in the topping out celebration.

$700 million Hard Rock expansion

The $700 million expansion will bolster the Tampa Hard Rock’s position as one of the top gaming epicenters in the country. Once the development is complete, the Seminole Hard Rock will feature 5,000 slot machines and more than 200 gaming tables.

How much room will you have to game at the expanded Hard Rock? Guests will enjoy roughly 200,000 sq. ft. space to game to their heart’s desire.

“I thank everyone involved in this project,” said Jim Allen, CEO of Seminole Gaming and Chairman of Hard Rock International. “From the designers and engineers to the day-to-day laborers that are showing the world what the Seminole Tribe and the Hard Rock brand are truly about — unconquered vision, unparalleled service and unlimited future.”

Thousands of jobs created through development

The Seminole Tribe’s massive investment in the Tampa casino will create approximately 1,000 part time and full time jobs. This is in addition to the over 2,000 construction jobs on-site during the two-year building project.

But back to this hotel tower.

The hotel will feature 564 rooms and suites, according to a release by the casino. Of course the Hard Rock had to up the ante on your typical hotel experience. They’ll see your hotel and raise you a rooftop gaming parlor.

This parlor will be available to VIP guests, who will also enjoy an exclusive check in and private elevators to their rock star suites. Yea, we’re ready to roll the dice in 2019.

New outdoor swimming pools, spas and restaurants

The development doesn’t end there. There will be three new outdoor swimming pools with a posh 120-seat poolside grille to boot.

Need to unwind. The pool area will also be home the a Rock Spa and Salon. Can’t be bothered to leave your lounge area? The luxurious spa will offer poolside service to guests.

Be still, my hear, because the Hard Rock is not done yet. A new 200-seat Italian restaurant is set to open in 2019, too, making the restaurant the third fine dining venue the property will offer.

Huge concert and events center under construction

“The property will also continue to elevate its music and entertainment programming with a 30,000-sq. ft. Seminole Hard Rock Event Center that is under construction,” noted Casino officials in a press release.

The event center will also include a 17,000 sq. ft. grand ballroom for concerts, private events and poker tournaments.

The growing is capped off with plans for six new retail shops.
