The Greene Turtle officially opened its doors in South Tampa this fall, bringing the popular Maryland-based sports bar to Florida for the first time. Located at 5224 Bridge St. in the Westshore Marina District, the restaurant marks the brand’s Southeast debut as it approaches its 50th anniversary in 2026. This is one of the hottest new restaurants Tampa has to offer.

Founded in 1976 in Ocean City, Maryland, The Greene Turtle has grown into a community-focused hangout with nearly 30 locations across the Mid-Atlantic. The Tampa restaurant continues that tradition with a spacious bar, a large outdoor patio, and more than 20 HD televisions tuned to the season’s biggest games.

Greene Turtle is setting roots in Tampa

“Florida is a natural next step for The Greene Turtle — it’s a sports-loving market with year-round outdoor dining,” said Geo Concepcion, CEO and president of The Greene Turtle. “Tampa’s rapid growth, thriving culture, and strong sports scene make it the perfect launchpad for our Southern expansion. We’re excited to become the go-to spot where neighbors connect and teams come to celebrate.”

The menu features a mix of sports bar favorites and Maryland-inspired dishes, including tacos, bowls, crab cakes, and desserts, all paired with locally sourced beers. The brand’s community-first focus and family-friendly atmosphere have made it a go-to destination for nearly five decades, and Tampa now joins the tradition.
