Gasparilla Music Festival is coming back. The event is typically held in Kiley Garden at the end of February or early March, however issues with the site have caused the city to shut down all events in the area. Tampa officials note water intrusion issues as the key reason why they can’t host major events at Kiley Garden. But the show goes on and Gasparilla Music Festival instead will take place April 29 and 30 in Curtis Hixon Park.
Here’s the full announcement from GMF reps regarding this year’s delayed event: “As you may have heard, we have been informed by the city that Kiley Gardens Park cannot be used for GMF this year. While this news has led to some changes to our programming for 2023, it has also opened up some new opportunities to expand our footprint and create some exciting new experiences for GMF 2023. We look forward to sharing those along with an incredible lineup in the coming weeks!”
12th annual Gasparilla Music Festival is back this spring
Early bird and VIP tickets go on sale March 10. This is an all ages music festival that also features local restaurants, tons of drinks, and even more entertainment beyond what’s happening on the main stage. A full artist lineup is still TBA. Past performers include Tanks and the Bangas, The Revivalists, Father John Misty, Gary Clark Jr, Toro Y Moi, and The Avett Brothers.
The Gasparilla Music Foundation is a Florida 501(c)-3 non-profit corporation that organizes an annual music festival in Downtown Tampa and supports music education through its Recycled Tunes program. As part of its mission to support and promote music and education, the organization is involved throughout the year in several initiatives including providing scholarships and instruments to music students.
The Gasparilla Music Foundation was founded in 2011 with financial support from several Tampa Bay area based businesses and the organization’s founding members, The Ring of Fire.
We will update this story with the full lineup of artists and participating restaurants as soon as those details become available.
