Frontier Airlines celebrates major expansion at TPA
Frontier Airlines is one of the greenest airlines in the country. Supervisors have worked hard to cut down on emissions with its fleet of planes. The low budget airline has rapidly expanded its base in the Tampa Bay region, and is regarded as the second fastest growing airline in the country.
In the spring, Frontier Airlines and TPA officials announced multiple new nonstop routes to some of the best destinations in the world. These routes include: San Juan, Puerto Rico; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; and Cancun.
Frontier Airlines also recently debuted its greenest aircraft at Tampa International Airport this fall. Frederick the Bald Eagle is their first A321neo, first GTF-powered aircraft, first of three special liveries and is named in in honor of Pratt & Whitney’s founder Frederick B. Rentschler, recognizing the nearly 100-year history of the engine maker. The aircraft marks the first of 144 A320neo family aircraft – 134 purchased and 10 leased – for which Frontier has selected Pratt & Whitney GTF™ engines.
