The original Fresh Kitchen location on South Howard Avenue, a beloved fixture in Tampa Bay’s dining scene, caught fire recently. This incident has led to the closure of the location, which may remain permanent.

Fresh Kitchen, renowned for its gluten-free offerings, opened its first restaurant nearly ten years ago in the historic Howard House. Since then, it has become a popular spot for health-conscious diners, known for dishes like sweet potato noodles, crunchy almond chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, and their famous gluten-free chocolate chip cookies.

In response to the fire, Fresh Kitchen shared a heartfelt message: “We are absolutely heartbroken to share that our Fresh Kitchen SoHo location caught fire early this AM. No team members or guests were in the building. We are extremely grateful that no one was injured. We’re still wrapping our heads and hearts around this, and the center of our focus is making sure our teams feel supported during this difficult time.”

Fresh Kitchen operates locations across Tampa Bay and Central Florida

They further elaborated on the future of the SoHo location: “SoHo will remain closed permanently, while we figure out a way to rebuild our iconic flagship. For all of our fans, please visit us at our Westshore location. Thank you to everyone for your concern, and for sharing love with us. SOHO Strong, forever.”

As the Fresh Kitchen team navigates this challenging period, they are directing their loyal customers to their Westshore location at 4616 W Kennedy Blvd. The company, which has successfully expanded across Tampa Bay, remains committed to serving its community and maintaining the high standards that have made it a favorite among local diners.
