Franklin Street is the latest area in Tampa to undergo a renaissance. The rising Nine 15 apartment tower, the soon to open Franklin Manor — boasting a space for high-end cocktails and live music — The Hall — a foodie haven — and the Tampa Theatre have turned this stretch of road in to an entertainment juggernaut.
The opening of the Tampa Indie Flea in 2015 further cemented this area’s growth. The third Sunday of each month the market opens its doors to the public and features the very best in local, handmade goods. Next door, at 1607 North Franklin Street, another bright concept is brewing.
Foundation Coffee Co., which is currently open in Riverview, will open its doors to Tampa on Sunday, August 21. The coffee shop will stay open from noon to 8pm that day. Speculative normal hours are 7am to 6pm Monday through Thursday, 8am to 9pm Friday and Saturday, and 8am to 2pm on Sundays. Visit them on Facebook and Instagram to learn more about the neighborhood’s newest coffee spot and updates on official hours. Foundation Coffee Co. is also getting their Yama glass silverton drippers ready for those who favor tea.
The spot features a variety of brews, one of their more popular drinks is their nitro tapped pressure brew — brewed by commune and co. For those with a sweet tooth, the affogato — vanilla ice crème w/ shot of espresso with caramel or chocolate topping — is a must try. Fruit smoothies, hot chocolate and chillers will also be available for purchase.
