Florida Cracker Kitchen is readying to open a new spot in the Carrollwood area that is set to be seafood centric. Brothers Blair and Ethan Hensley opened the very first Florida Cracker Kitchen back in 2012. The motto: “In Grits We Trust.” This joint mixes old school Florida flavor with fun country store vibes.
The offshoot of the kitchen is the Florida Cracker Seafood Company. It’s described as a place to feed your soul and belly at the same time. The owners continue: “With a lifestyle driven from the roots of Old Florida, and the Florida Cracker Culture where everyone is treated like family with true southern hospitality!”

This new venture is set to open at 7604 Ehrlich Rd in the Carrollwood area in the space formerly occupied by Ballyhoo. An opening timeline for this seafood concept is still TBA. We’re hoping to see the restaurant’s signature oyster and catfish po’boys on the menu, along with the bourbon selection from the taproom. You’ll be sure to find their famous shrimp and grits, and smoked mullet dip on the menu, too.
Unsurprisingly this Florida-fueled restaurant is well regarded for its breakfast. Each fall diners eagerly anticipate the return of the kitchen’s famous pumpkin pancakes. Apple Raisin French Toast, buttermilk waffles, and Brooksville blueberry pancakes are absolute standouts, as are the huge Ybor breakfast burritos.
