Florida Cane Distillery Arrives in Ybor

Florida Cane Distillery has arrived in Ybor City. Tampa's oldest distillery has helped residents connect with the robust flavors of Florida since 2012. Founded by Pat O'Brien and Lee Nelson, Florida Cane's small batch vodkas and gins — Weeki Wachi Watermelon, Orlando Orange, Beach Bum Berry, Plant City Strawberry, Bucanner Blueberry, Miami Mango, Gator Grape — pay homage to the spirit of Florida.

The craft distillery hosts the grand opening of their new space in Ybor City on Friday, May 13 from 3 to 5pm. The ribbon cutting will be attended by Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and feature opening remarks from the founders. The new location, which is twice the size of their original space, will allow the Distillery to host walking tours of the facility. They plan to host distilling classes in the near future. Florida Cane offers 30 minutes lessons on the full distilling experience on a rotating basis. Click HERE to see available tour times.

The Tasting Room is open Friday, Saturday and select Sundays only. The distillery can host up to 22 visitors at a time as both seating and parking are limited. For questions or groups larger than 6 people, call (813) 892-0784 or email sarah@floridacane.com.

The new 2,500 sqaure-foot facility in the historic El Encanto building in Ybor is a sure upgrade for Florida Cane. They were forced to move from their original location just 18 months ago in an industrial park in East Hillsborough after new Tampa zoning codes were passed. The requirements came at an advantageous time and, now, Tampa residents can enjoy the pure flavors or their city and state like never before.
