Filipiniana Philippine Cafe brings boba and Halo-Halo to Tampa

Filipiniana Philippine Cafe may offer the best baked goods in the entire city. The cafe is located at 3848 W Waters Avenue and makes one of our favorite vibrant desserts Halo-Halo on the daily. This delicacy is a popular cold dessert in the Philippines made up of crushed ice, evaporated milk or coconut milk, and various ingredients including ube ice cream, mango, boba, sweet preserves, and shaved ice.

The restaurant’s dessert list includes Ube Macapuno Cake, Maiz Con Yelo (sweet corn, sweetened shaved ice, and corn flake cereal topped with homemade corn ice cream), and Taho (fresh silken tofu, sweet syrup, sweetened boba pearls). If you’re looking beyond boba, sip on Sago’t Gulaman (brown sugar, water, gelatin, and tapioca pearls).

Philippine Cafe brings authentic cuisine to Tampa

Filipiniana is setup cafeteria style, so if you’re craving something savory there’s ample lumpia and adobo to pick from. Cheese cupcakes, cheese rolls, buttery ensaymada, and spongy mamon are on the menu from Christie’s Bakeshop.

Slush coolers, a wide variety of shaved ice flavors, and fresh Gregg’s coffee are also on the menu. You can keep up with the cafe by following them on Facebook.

An array of 5-star reviews reflect the glowing standard this cafe has set in the city of Tampa. One reviewer, Ruthie R, who was raised on Filipino food in New Jersey, had this to say:

“So far, I have had their Diniguan, Lechon Kawali, Kare Kare, Menudo, Palabok, and Sisig from their hot foods section. All were delicious and were as good, if not better, than Mom&Dad’s (but don’t tell them that I said that). I’ve also brought home some baked goods from Christine’s Bakeshop… just because.”
