Live & Local on the Riverwalk

Enjoy live music on the Riverwalk stage outside Straz Center on Saturday. Music begins at 6pm.

John McRae’s favorite place to hang out as a kid was his parent’s and grandparent’s record cabinets. Count Basie, Foreigner, Billie Holiday, Glenn Miller, Burt Bacharach, Queen, Billy Joel, Bill Evans, and Michael Jackson… there was a lot to get lost in. Now a singer and multi-instrumentalist, John couldn’t be happier to have been born and raised in Tampa Florida. Before graduating high school, John had been a part of nearly ten active bands, recorded five EPs and two full-length albums. This continued as he reached his twenties and beyond, continuing to write and record with bands, and solo artists alike. Today, John continues to write and wants to bring the authenticity and connectivity of live music to as many people as possible. Creative, exciting, and unexpected covers/renditions are his specialty.
