Epicurean Hotel has announced the addition of Tampa-based ice cream company Chill Bros., expected to open this Fall, streetside on the ground floor of the popular 137-room culinary-themed property. Chill Bros. is renowned in historic Ybor City, and just recently debuted a new spot off of Bayshore Boulevard. The company is also planning an ice cream shop in the Water Street Tampa area.

Using only the finest ingredients, Chill Bros. Scoop Shop features a wide variety of made-from-scratch ice creams, mix-ins, toppings, candies, sauces, waffle cones and baked goods. True to signature laid-back vibe, Chill Bros. prides themselves on being a “super chill” spot to stop in any day or night of the week to relax and enjoy a tasty treat.

Chill Bros brings passion project to Epicurean Hotel

The local company was launched by the Chillura brothers, who find passion in developing all-natural, American-style ice cream made from scratch.

“Chill Bros. shares our same devotion for using top quality ingredients and care to create exceptional culinary experiences,” said Shawn Routten, General Manager of the Epicurean Hotel. “We value our partnerships with local businesses and believe Chill Bros. will be a sweet addition for our locals and hotel guests alike.”

The Epicurean will also house the company’s production facility, the heart of Chill Bros., where all the ice cream will be frozen, mixed and packed on site. The full-service pastry and ice cream kitchen will be visible from the hotel scoop shop and Howard Avenue, giving a front row seat to the team of pastry chefs creating every sauce, infusion, baked good, candy and mix-in that goes into their scratch made ice cream.

House made vegan ice cream is on the menu

Staple Chill Bros. ice cream flavors include Belgian brownie; brown-butter praline-pecan; double down Oreo; peanut butter cup; Tampa banana; and orange creamsicle, to name a few. House made vegan ice cream, fresh baked cookies, and refreshing granita will also be served.

“We’re fired up to be opening our third scoop shop at Epicurean,” said Maximilian Chillura, owner of Chill Bros. “We can’t wait to begin this partnership with a truly local Tampa hotel that shares our passion for creating and sharing exceptional food.”

Chill Bros is a literal dream come true. The name is derived from the Chillura family name. Three brothers and one sister had plans to deliver a much needed scoop shop to their Tampa neighborhood.

It was a childhood dream until about 12 years later, when Max (the middle Chill Bro), ranoff to the motherland, Bologna Italy, to learn the art of Ice cream making. Upon his return, the team spent the next year developing a truly all-natural, American style Ice cream made from absolute scratch, with passion, care and the best ingredients we could get our hands on.
