How happy is happily ever after … REALLY? Coming to the Straz Center this February, the hilarious hit show Disenchanted! gives audiences a song, dance and disappointment-filled look behind the curtain at what life is really like for those fairytale princesses when they get their supposed “happy endings.”
Disenchanted! has delighted audiences since debuting to a sold-out house in New York City in 2009, quickly becoming the Off-Broadway sensation now loved across the country. The Straz Center for the Performing Arts is hosting Disenchanted! for a three-night run in the intimate Jaeb Theater (the perfect setting for this wise-cracking, nose-thumbing musical), running from February 28 – March 2.
The hit musical hilariously answers the question of what actually happens after “happily ever after.” Was that poisoned apple worth it? Should she have just pretended to still be asleep when she got that fateful kiss? Was a steady gig as a maid with talking animal friends really such a bad thing, after all?
