The city of Tampa loves a good brewery. Recently spots such as Wulfhaven and Common Dialect have joined the medley of sanctuaries for beer lovers. Deviant Libation is a brand new, devilishly designed destination to enjoy meticulously crafted beers in the city of Tampa. This concept is part of the hotly anticipated Crab Devil development. Deviant Libation is located at 3800 N. Nebraska Ave and the grand opening is set for January 27 from 4pm-9pm.
True to its name, Deviant Libation looks like some astounding cathedral inside. There are about a dozen seats at the bar, with several tables inside, and patio seating outside. There will be limited quantities of Deviant brews available upon opening. Owner Tim Ogden has a longstanding history with brewing here in the city of Tampa. He began at Cigar City Brewing more than 10 years ago, and also served as the head brewer for Tampa Bay Brewing Company. Creative Loafing Tampa recently did an in depth interview with the brew that is well worth a read.

Deviant Libation brings new spirit to Ybor Heights
It’s the perfect compliment to the artist collective dedicated to celebrating everything that makes Tampa and Florida so wonderful and strange. Crab Devil is a Tampa-based multimedia art collective of designers, curators, musicians, writers, programmers, brewers, artists, philosophers, and makers.
This current assemblage of creatives has evolved from a long lineage of several celebrated Tampa-based art collectives including Tempus Projects, Cunsthaus, LiveWork Studios, Experimental Skeleton, and others. Crab Devil was founded on the vision of harnessing diverse talents, and featuring a roster of rotating artists, in one centralized location.
Deviant Libations will be the first aspect of this larger project to open to the public. You can keep up with Crab Devil, The Peninsularium and more on its official website. The Peninsularium, Crab Devil’s premiere attraction, is a multi-year, multi-artist, multi-million-dollar effort to provide Tampa with its first and only permanent, immersive arts installation experience.
