Chad Mize’s murals can be seen on walls in St. Petersburg, Tampa and well beyond the bounds of this region. His celebrated art gallery, Mize Gallery, in Historic Uptown is a bastion for emerging creatives in Florida and across the globe. He’s exhibited generosity not only to the baron walls that he’s beautified, but also to the rising artist talents seeking an opportunity to grow in their chosen profession. His tenacity and determination has paid off with inclusion in Walt Disney World’s Spring Art Walk Showcase. Mize joined a selection of elite artists who would leave their mark on the happiest place on Earth. The Disney Springs Art Walk features both local artists and artists from around the globe to create murals that fill the walls with color, emotion and the spirit of their cultures. Guests will have a chance to see their work up close and experience the individual style and voice of each artist.
This month, Mize Gallery will host a new exhibit, Say Gay, in recognition of Pride Month in the ‘Burg. The most recent exhibit, Stay in Shape, opened to the public at the end of May, and features a huge array of local artists, One of the pieces, crafted by area artist Jay Hoff, was constructed entirely of LEGO bricks. You can see all the upcoming exhibits online.

Chad Mize to make art at Disney World
Mize’s murals have evolved into signature icons of the Sunshine City and even in Hyde Park Village. His Twiggy Mural has captivated residents and visitors for the better part of a decade. Mr. Sun remains a foundational work on the 600 Block of Central Avenue. His work branches beyond walls, too. Mize’s art has been incorporated by the Tampa Bay Rays, St. Pete Pride, and Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority. His version of Mr. Sun will soon adorn the new Sunrunner Bus carrying passengers from downtown St. Pete to the Beach.
You’d be hard-pressed to miss his ubiquitous “Paris. London. Tokyo. St. Pete” t-shirts, and bandannas, the proverbial Sunshine City Jersey. We’re excited to see what art this St. Pete muralist brings to the well-trafficked and globally beloved Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Immediately after completing his mural at Disney, Mize proceeded to paint a window mural for COACH’s pride campaign. The mural can be seen on the front of the COACH store at The Mall of Millennia in Orlando.
