Breeze Airways is a new low cost airline offering point-to-point flights from smaller secondary airports, bypassing hubs for shorter travel times. The seriously nice airline comes from the mind of JetBlue founder David Neeleman. In 2021 Breeze Airways made its official debut at TPA with 10 routes to destinations such as Charleston, Louisville, Oklahoma City and Columbus. Breeze just announced 3 new routes coming soon to popular cities in New England: Providence, RI; Hartford, CT; and Portland, ME.
“Here we grow again,” Tom Doxey, Breeze Airways’ President, said in a statement. “We always look for routes that people are traveling today but can’t get there nonstop. Hartford residents can now get to Tampa…twice as fast, for about half the price! Starting May 17, the low-cost airline will begin service from TPA to Portland, ME; on May 18 the airline will go to Hartford, CT; and service to Providence, RI, will begin July 14.
- Portland will operate Wednesday and Saturday.
- Hartford will operate Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
- Providence will operate Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
Breeze Airways continues to grow at Tampa International Airport
“Tampa International Airport is delighted to see Breeze Airways expanding its offerings with nonstop options to three popular New England destinations,” Airport CEO Joe Lopano said. “With 11 routes now in service from TPA to cities across America, Breeze continues to be a valued airline partner dedicated to excellent service for our travelers.”

It’s also a paradise for voracious bibliophiles. The Providence Athenaeum is a treasured destination for literary lovers.
