Boom by the Bay is back! The event, set for July 1, takes place at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park beginning at 4pm. It’s a huge weekend celebration ahead of the 4th of July boat parade.
This year’s event will feature activities for the whole family to enjoy, including a big Pickle Ball Tournament. Attendees will also get to enjoy an apple pie bake-off, a free outdoor concert, a family zone with multiple activations such as bounce houses and corn hole, local food trucks, and of course a fireworks display.

Boom by the Bay is the event of the summer in Tampa
“While fireworks will grace the sky, Boom by the Bay is about so much more than that,” said Mayor Jane Castor. “It’s a chance for our community to gather, connect and appreciate the beauty of our city and the spirit of togetherness. This will be a highlight of the summer.”
Shaun Drinkard, Interim President of the Tampa Downtown Partnership added, “We’re looking forward to an all-day, family-friendly party on July 1st. Whether it’s with the classic all-American favorite apple pie or the new all-American obsession of pickleball, you’ll find activities for everyone.”
The event is dog-friendly, though attendees should note the fireworks will be loud, so it may be best to leave your four-legged friends at home if you intend on staying past dusk. There will also be a sensory relief zone at Julian B Lane Riverfront Park.
Free and family friendly activities on the riverfront
The fireworks are free to attend, but charges will be applicable for any food or drink. All City garages will be available, along with street parking and private lot options. City of Tampa parking garages (including Fort Brooke garage) will cost $10 for the day. However, city officials strongly encourage everyone to use rideshare and public transit options. They also encourage attendees to park in Ybor City and take the TECO Streetcar into downtown. Accessible parking is available at all public parking facilities.
More details can be found on the event’s website. Julian B Lane Riverfront Park is located at 1001 N Blvd
