Big 813 Day celebrations set for Water Street Tampa

As our neighbors in St. Pete prepare to celebrate 727 Day on July 27, Tampa is similarly gearing up to go all out in celebration of the area code. This year, the ‘Tampa love fest’ is back at Sparkman Wharf (615 Channeslide Dr) as it hosts the 5th annual 813 Day with a social media fundraiser benefiting The Tampa Bay History Center. 

This year’s dedication to the Tampa History Center is special because the “History Center has long served as a leading cultural venue and anchor of the Tampa Riverwalk,” note event organizers in a press release.

Sparkman Wharf will donate $5 (up to $1,000) for every photo taken in front of the decorated Sparkman Wharf TAMPA sign, posted on social media from August 9-August 18. To enter the contest:

• Take a photo with the decorated TAMPA sign from August 9-18
• Post on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter
• Geotag Tampa Bay History Center 
• Tag @sparkmanwharf and the @tampahistorycenter
• Use the hashtags #813Day and #TampaBayHistoryCenter 
• Follow @sparkmanwharf on Instagram 

Mayor Jane Castor will take the first photo to kick off the 10-day social media fundraiser during the unveiling of this year’s 813 Day TAMPA sign on Friday, August 9.
