Beijing House is regarded as one of the best authentic Chinese restaurants in Tampa. A devastating fire took out their original location, and the owners had launched a GoFundMe campaign as they looked to rebuild. A generous donation from the Johnny Tung and The BENTO Group have given the restaurant a second life. The group donated a new location to Beijing House at 5103 E Fowler Avenue.
“After the devastating fire at our first location, our dreams were left in ashes,” writes the Beijing House ownership team. “It was then that Johnny and the Bento Group, touched by our story, extended their hand of extraordinary generosity.”

They provided Beijing House with an incredible new restaurant, and “a second chance to continue our journey of serving authentic Chinese cuisine,” adds the Beijing House team.
“When my husband Jason and I came here from China ten years ago,” Beijing House owner Alice Zhang said in an interview with That’s So Tampa, “We noticed there were a lot of Asian students at USF. Many of them were homesick, so we started cooking for them. We wanted to help them overcome the homesickness.”
We’re happy to see this restaurant dream live on — and we can’t wait to visit once again and experience all that Beijing House has to offer.
