Don’t mind me, just seeing if they’re still doing the One Tree Hill tour of Wilmington, North Carolina. Avelo Airlines, a low-cost carrier that aims to connect underserved cities in the United States, just announced the launch of new flights between Tampa International Airport (TPA) and Wilmington International Airport (ILM) in North Carolina. The service between the two beautiful cities will begin in June 2023.
Wilmington, a gorgeous coastal city, is home to popular tourist attractions such as the USS North Carolina Battleship Memorial, Wrightsville Beach, and the historic Riverwalk. The UNC Wilmington Campus is also worth a stroll.

“It’s amazing to think that just a year ago we had no service to Florida and now, with these new flights to Tampa and West Palm Beach — along with Orlando and Fort Lauderdale — we have four convenient flights to Florida,” ILM director Jeff Bourk said in an interview with Port City Daily.
“Wilmington – we’re growing again! We’re seeing great support from the community and our flights are consistently filling up,” Avelo Airlines Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy said. “With these two new routes to Palm Beach and Tampa, and added flights to Orlando, Coastal NC residents can continue saying hello to affordable, convenient and reliable air travel with Avelo.”
Tampa service will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays beginning June 23. Avelo currently offers nonstop flights to Delaware, Raleigh, and New Haven from TPA.
