The 2nd Annual AAPI Cultural Celebration in Bonnet Springs Park is set to bring an incredible, diverse, and supremely flavorful celebration of Asian and Pacific culture to the area. The sprawling celebration takes place on Saturday, May 10, from 6-9 pm in Bonnet Springs Park (400 Bonnet Springs Boulevard in Lakeland).
Last year’s inaugural celebration was a smash hit, and organizers are going even bigger and better for year two, with tons of family-friendly entertainment, incredible food and drink, and authentic cultural experiences from all over the Pacific. Hosted on the Allen & Company Family Lawn, the AAPI Cultural Celebration is completely free to attend and open to all ages.

Performances throughout the evening will showcase authentic dance and rituals from a wide variety of cultures and histories. Highlights include multiple traditional Philippine dances, a Bollywood dance performance, a Taiko drumming performance by the Taiko Dojo, and even an authentic luau show from the islands of the South Pacific.
Of course, the main star at any celebration is the food, and the AAPI Cultural Celebration will deliver big time when it comes to tasty (and authentic) eats. From Indian and Hawaiian to Pinoy and Japanese, the wide array of food trucks and chefs will showcase some truly unbeatable dishes – many of which you won’t find anywhere else.
Dumplings and egg rolls, boba teas and savory bowls – there will be something for every palate. And after all the eating, you’ll want to make sure you get a seat close to the stage. But maybe not too close – the luau show includes fire dancing!
