A Tampa restaurant is serving a one-pound meatball filled with spaghetti

A spaghetti filled meatball

Hey Tampa residents, did you know national meatball day is a thing? Well it is, and one restaurant, Datz, is celebrating in true hearty fashion. Datz currently operates two restaurants, one in Tampa and another in downtown St. Petersburg. A third location is set to open in Riverview, according to a report by the Tampa Bay Times.

Datz’ St. Pete and Tampa locations will serve a massive, meteor sized meatball on March 9, National Meatball Day.

It’s a giant meat-eor

The treat is basically a savory version of Nestle’s Wonder Ball. Instead of a toy inside chocolate, there’s ginormous amounts of spaghetti stuffed inside this meaty vessel.

Datz’s Kitchen Manager Angel Campos shared that the inspiration for this dish came from wanting to do something extra LARGE and Datz-esque so that it would be more fun to eat, but at the same time keep that level of comfort and quality to resemble your mom’s old fashioned spaghetti and meatballs.

Savory seekers head to Datz

The dish uses Certified Angus Beef for the meatball, and is an 80/20 blend – perfect for flavor.

The dish is usually priced at $18, but on March 9th, the dish will be half off.

Could you finish this one-pound spaghetti-filled meatball?
