Trips to Discover recently wrote a list of the most iconic restaurants in the state of Florida, and two of them are in Tampa, and a third is in the Tampa Bay region. You can probably guess the first restaurant that made the cut. Columbia Restaurant, an institution with more than a century of experience here in the Sunshine State. The second restaurant to make the cut was Bern’s Steakhouse with its renowned wine collection and breathtaking dessert room.

The Tampa Theatre is said to be one of the most haunted movie theaters in the world. This movie palace opened in 1926 and offers backstage tours and screens movies to this day. Visit them at 711 N Franklin St.

#7: Water Street to launch monthly outdoor vendor market in Tampa
There’s a new outdoor farmers market coming to Water Street Tampa! They will welcome more than 50 local food and wellness-focused vendors and artisans each month. The Market at Water Street Tampa will be held from 10am-3pm on the third Sunday of every month, starting January 15, 2023, through the end of the year. Parking is available at the E Cumberland Garage and the Channelside Garage.
#6: Michelin-starred chef opens hot dog spot in downtown Tampa
JoDog Craft Hot Dogs, the brainchild of Michelin-starred chef Joe Isidori and Millennium Restaurant Group, opened this year at Sparkman Wharf. They offer a kimchi dog, a New York City-style chili cheese dog, the Carolina Slaw Dog, and the spicy Mexico City Dog. Located at 615 Channelside Drive.

Xtreme Tacos in Seminole Heights is home to Tampa, Florida’s largest burrito. The behemoth “Stoner Burrito” is over a foot and a half long and stuffed with your choice of meat, rice, beans, french fries, thinly shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and shredded cheese. #4: Best Tampa Dessert Spots: Flan Factory
One of the top dessert spots in Tampa is Flan Factory. Enjoy flan flavors like espresso, guava, chocolate, caramel, and even Fruit Pebble. Yes, they even have vegan options. This spot won the award for best Cuban Sandwich, but you need to save room for “The 1985”. Brioche bread is deep-fried in cinnamon batter and filled with guava sauce, and cream cheese, with oven-roasted turkey breast in the center. Find them at 1718 N Nebraska Avenue.

Our most popular video of the year features Frankies Italian Deli in Riverview. Their Taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwiches were one of our fave things we ate this year. They also serve up a mean muffuletta, lobster tails, ice cream, and more. Find them at 3930 US-301 in Riverview.
