Coco N’Ice, a vegan, gluten- and sugar-free ice cream shop, debuts in Tampa

Tampa is becoming a vegan foodie paradise — and this super sweet new vegan and gluten-free ice cream shop is another feather in the cap of Tampa’s dessert scene. Coco N’ice is as splendid as it sounds. In addition to coconut-milk based ice creams (sweetened with dates), the shop also serves up raw vegan cheesecake, and crafts gluten-free waffles and waffle cones.

Owner Simone describes the mission behind Coco N’ice in Tampa: “Since 2009 I live a wonderful rawvegan lifestyle. I was very sick with the thyroid disease Hashimoto. To heal it, I did first a lot of detoxing, then lived for a time only on fruits, greens (also wild greens) and lots of coconuts and Brazil nuts (both have a lot of selenium),” writes Simone.

“I started creating wonderful raw vegan dishes and visited for a year a holistic school in Germany, where I graduated as a Holistic Health- and Lifecoach and rawvegan Chef. I always liked sweets, especially ice cream and chocolate a lot and as I couldn’t eat anything of this anymore, just got the idea to do everything by myself and share my passion of a healthy, natural and cruelty free lifestyle. With Coco NIce I fulfilled my big dream.”

Coco N’ice also offers up smoothies, fresh juices, and acai bowls, and one recent special included raw vegan tiramisu.

Featured vegan ice cream flavors include tamarind, raspberry, Strawberry Mint, Mango, Caramel, Golden Mylk and Magic Vanilla. Sip on sugar free shakes, indulge in bowl of fresh fruit, and savor the sunny flavor of the super nice shop.

Coco N Ice is located at 3407 S MacDill Ave. Follow Coco N Ice on Facebook and Instagram.
