The most creative bakery in all of Tampa is joining a popular ’90’s themed bar in downtown Tampa, so I think we all win. Bake’n Babes rose to fame with their selection of wild and super sweet Freak Shakes, indulgent soft baked brookies (a cookie and brownie hybrid), and plenty of themed treats.
Bake’n Babes went viral when they launched a Lizzo-inspired cookie, and the artist herself wound up visiting to indulge in one. Bake’n Babes was formerly located inside the Hall on Franklin, a food hall in Tampa Heights. During the pandemic, Bake’n Babes set up shop in the Gen X Tavern kitchen to help continue to supply Tampa with their wild sweets.

Gen X reopens on June 18
That pop up is now permanent. Gen X Tavern is set to reopen on June 18, and Bake’n Babes is officially joining them.
The walls of Gen X Tavern are covered with pop culture icons. Kramer, Sonic the Hedgehog, Big Bird, Gizmo, Fight Club and more have found a place at the establishment located at 103 E Jackson Street.
Visitors will be able to play skee-ball, pinball, Ms. Pac Man and even Super Nintendo. Or you could just lounge with Furby or get lost in the infinity mirror. Yea, this place is a trip.

More than 18 signature cocktails on the menu
The menu includes more than two different shots and cocktails. One of those cocktails is a boozy Capri Sun drink that we cannot wait to stick a straw into.
Add to this nostalgia-fueled menu the wild milkshakes of Bake’n Babes and you have a restaurant concept designed to make your sweet tooth dreams come true.
Popular menu items include the Vegan CBD chocolate chip cookie with organic CBD oil, the Fruity Pebbles Cookie, and the sleazy brownie (Layers of cookie dough, Oreo, and brownie batter all baked together).
