Ever catch yourself scrolling through adorable dog videos on Facebook and Tik Tok for hours? You’re also probably the friend who has to stop to pet every good dog you walk by — and let’s be honest, we are all that friend. It’s hard not to be in Tampa, which was just named the sixth most dog friendly city in the country by WalletHub.
The city is so dog friendly that Tampa has spawned its own roster of social media dog celebs. These pups are pretty good at reminding us to get outside and enjoy the Florida sunshine.
Here are seven of our favorite Tampa four-legged friends to follow on Instagram right now. The more the merrier, so don’t forget to tell us YOUR favorite fur babies to follow in the comments below!
Leo the Golden (@leothegolden813)
This sunshine faced boy is an actual gem. He’s downright adorable and already knows Sparkman Wharf, Armature Works and Curtis Hixon Park are the spots to be.
Draco & Gemma (@bordercolliedraco)
Don’t quote us, but these might be the most Instagram famous dogs in Tampa Bay. Yes, we almost cried the day we got to pet them. They are that good. Draco and his little sister Gemma are our picks for the next season of America’s Next Top Model.
Louie Otto (@tampabaefrenchie)
Honestly, this dog might live a cooler life than we do. Louie Otto’s feed ranges from munching on pretzels on the Riverwalk, yoga in Curtis Hixon Park, and happy hour at Sparkman Wharf. Don’t ask questions, just give him a follow.
Maverick the Yellow Lab may only be six months old, but he’s already, albeit self-proclaimed, “the goodest boy.” Mr. Steal Yo Girl can be seen posting about his jaunts at his favorite dog park, the new tricks he’s learned and more.
This old soul loves the beach as much as any of us. Give fuzzy little Fitzgerald a follow if you’re a sucker for the scruffy pups.
Lily Belle (@lilybellegoldoodle)
She’s beauty, she’s grace, she’s a Mini Goldendoodle with the cutest face. Lily Belle’s feed at first glance may seem like any other extra cute dogstagram, but this pup brings the “pawsitivity” we need on a day to day basis with her caption game.
“Super Dog Max”, Ruby & Hope (@maxsuperdog)
Local heroes, Max and Ruby, are therapy dogs that spend their days volunteering at the Veteran’s hospital, elementary schools, universities and more. You can read more about their work with Healing Paws Animal Therapy here. They recently welcomed new pup, Hope, to the pack. Masters of the perfect “sit”, you can catch them repping local restaurants like Osteria Tampa.
AGoldPhoto Pet Photography (@agoldphoto)
We’re including Adam Goldberg’s Instagram because he’s on of our favorite pet photographers in the area. He captures portraits of your furry companion in exchange for donations to local shelters and nonprofits. To date, he’s raised over $99,000 for charity. Goldberg’s feed delivers a constant stream of Grade A portraits of all the good boys – silly faces, slobbers, and smiles alike.
