October means the start of the NHL season. We're just about a week away from the Tampa Bay Lightning's first game of the regular season. They face Philledelphia at home on October 8th. As excited as we are for the games to begin, we're equally ecstatic about the renovations happening at the arena.

Here are 5 updates we can't wait to experience this season.

1. Bourbon Bar

The Outdoorsman Lounge, Cask and Barrel Bar and Bay Club Slider station will function as the premiere area to kickback before the game and at half time. Enjoy premium bourbon while you prepare to #BeTheThunder.

2. Wine and Dessert Bar

Local favorite and nationally renowned restaurant Mis en Place will provide all the sweets, drinks and modern American cuisine your heart desires. Go for the game, stay for the food.

3. Irish 31 Pub House and Eatery

The carving station has arrived. Amalie Arena joins the bevy of stadiums that cater to foodies and fans alike. Irish 31 will feature a bar that will act as a quick pit-stop for a drink. The carvery will showcase hot meals featuring the Pub House and Grill's signature items (fingers crossed for their gourmet mac n' cheese).

4. Tots and Boxty Bar

Another Irish 31 addition, the Tots and Boxty Bar will feature fresh tater tots and nearly every kind of toppiong you could want. This will be the place where you find your fan fuel.

5. Smoke's Poutinerie

While we've never experienced Smoke's Poutinerie before, we've heard pretty incredible things. This will be Smoke's FIRST arena location in the U.S.. The food station will feature mouthwatering variations on stadium bite classics. Enjoy fries smothered in gravy and cheese curds topped off with pulled pork or bacon.

Of course we've only scratched the surface of the construction happening at Amalie. They are also expanding the Tampa Bay Club, adding lodge seating (already SOLD OUT for the 2015-16 season), updating current concession stands and building more stairwells for heightened accessibility throughout the arena.
