The countdown to Tampa’s huge 4th of July riverfront celebration is on. Registration for boats, and VIP parade tickets are on sale, you can check back on the Tampa Riverwalk’s website for updates.

Friends of the Tampa Riverwalk host their 3rd Annual July 4th Boat Parade and Blessing of the Fleet along the Riverwalk.  The parade route will be similar to their holiday light boat parade but will include a poker run and a blessing station.  The Blessing of the Fleet is a tradition that began years ago but is still practiced in many fishing and boating communities around the world to ensure a safe and bountiful season.

Boats will be decked out in red, white and blue and compete for the most patriotic boat trophy. Registered boaters will partake in a Poker Run for a chance to win a grand prize and several other great prizes! The boat parade will be followed by fireworks displays at Sparkman Wharf. Events will also take place in Tampa Heights, with activations all along the Riverwalk.

This celebration traditionally includes miles and miles of fireworks, too. Boom on the Bay details haven’t been released yet, but we’ll update this story as details become available. The fun typically includes live music, kids games, food trucks, interactive shows and more.

Sparkman Wharf is celebrating Independence Day with its 5th annual Star Spangled Sparkman— a staple community event with entertainment for all ages. Guests will have a spectacular waterfront view of the fireworks show as one of Tampa Bay’s prime viewing locations.

The festivities kick off on Tuesday, July 4 at 4pm. Family-friendly activities will include live entertainment, a game zone on the wharf, roaming entertainment, food and beverage specials and more. Guests will enjoy optimal viewing of the annual Blessing of the Fleet, followed by the Boat Parade and Water Ski Show presented by Friends of the Tampa Riverwalk. The evening will conclude with a spectacular firework display.

The event is free and open to the public. Sparkman Wharf will be limiting capacity— guests are encouraged to arrive early. It’s located at 615 Channelside Drive.
