Welcoming residents this year, St. Petersburg’s 400 Central will showcase 515-ft-high observatory

The biggest (and grandest) tower in Tampa Bay history is nearing completion, as 400 Central announced that it will begin welcoming residents this year in its gleaming new St. Petersburg digs. With owners moving in in 2025 (and limited residences still remaining), 400 Central is set to become one of the region’s most iconic landmarks, soaring into the sky from one of the most popular downtown areas in all of Florida.

The long-anticipated project will also showcase what will unquestionably be the best views in all of Tampa Bay. The Sky Lounge Observatory floats a jaw-dropping 515 feet off the ground, providing awe-inspiring views of the Bay and the Gulf from the 46th floor. It is the highest vantage point in all of St. Petersburg, offering clear views of Tampa, St. Pete Beach, the Skyway Bridge and much more.

Red Apple Real Estate, the development team behind 400 Central, recently held a “Tour of The Top” event for media, giving reporters an early look at the panoramic, unhindered views of our little slice of paradise here in Florida.

“From the very beginning, I wanted this building to have a ‘Wow factor’ and to have a rooftop observatory,” Red Apple founder John Catsimatidis Sr. said. “This will be a place where you can see everything from the Bay to the Gulf, where you can go up, look at the stars, and enjoy life. I will be up there too!”

The latest construction update from the Red Apple team offers glimpses inside the new residences, atop the observation deck, and throughout the grand structure in downtown St. Petersburg. With finishing touches left, the immaculate tower is nearing completion.

Luxury living in the sky at 400 Central

The two, three, and four- bedroom residences at 400 Central will feature open floor plans, kitchens with European style cabinetry, floor to ceiling glass, and expansive terraces. Billed as “luxury living in the sky,” the gleaming tower was designed by the award-winning firm Arquitectonica, with interiors and amenities by the New York-based Celano Design Studio. Units are priced from the low $1 millions.

The high-rise will also offer extraordinary residential amenities for its tenants, including two areas from which to enjoy leisure time and stunning views. On the 7th floor, The Residences at 400 will showcase more than 36,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor spaces, featuring a heated pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a game lounge, and an outdoor cabana by the pool. There will also be a co-working space, a kitchen, a pet station and even a private movie theatre.

In addition to an elegant design flooded in natural light, residences will feature “modern, open-concept floor plans that highlight the spacious interiors and panoramic views from Tampa Bay to the Gulf.”

And to add a personal touch, The Residences at 400 Central will include “designer finishes package options in multiple styles and materials.”

The Residences at 400 Central bringing new storefronts to Central Avenue

Of course, the new building will offer the city of St. Petersburg much more than just a place to live. At ground level, The Residences at 400 Central will bring 48,000 square feet of retail space to the 400 block of Central Avenue, featuring “a robust collection” of independent shops, restaurants, and galleries.

Located opposite St. Petersburg staples like Il Ritorno, La V, and Original Flavor, The Residences at 400 Central will fill out the block’s entertainment and dining scene along the bustling stretch of Central Avenue.

“I am tremendously proud of the team that has come together to create this iconic building,” Catsimatidis Sr. said. “It is great to see the building secure its place in St. Petersburg’s skyline and to see buyers choosing 400 Central as their future home.”
