Flatbread & Butter

This exceptional restaurants is one of my favorite reasons to visit Uptown in St. Pete. Their margherita pizza is one of the best pies you can get in Florida. They also offer up ample gluten-free and vegan options, their Jackfruit Pizza on a gluten-free crust is an absolute revelation.

Flatbread & Butter is set to open on the ground floor of AVE Tampa (160 W Tyler Street) some time in 2024.

Owner Jesse Muire first convfeiced the concept while she still lived in NYC. Muire and wife Rebecca found inspiration in the area’s thriving craft coffee scene and stellar pizza landscape. Muire wanted to create a cafe with a robust menu that went beyond your average pastries. You can always visit the restuarant at 497 7th Ave N in St. Pete while you wait for the Tampa location to debut.

LARA Tampa Heights

This spot is shrouded in intrigue. Creative Loafing first reported on the BaZaar & PHarmakeia back in April 2023. WFLA also highlighted this new concept in their most buzzed about list.

This apothecary inspired drinkery is described as a curated haven in Tampa Heights (no official address has been announced). Chef Suzanne Lara notes that the concept extends beyond just beverages, offering a market adorned with locally sourced foods, a curated beer and wine selection, and a treasure trove of culinary supplies for both seasoned cooks and aspiring mixologists alike.

“From a dream to a vision set in motion, I am beyond excited to announce LARA, a unique bar & market concept slated to open in early 2024,” wrote Chef Lara on Instagram. “LARA’s supporting kitchen will curate an evolving menu that buzzes in harmony with its market offerings while celebrating the vast diaspora of food in Florida.”
