The New 718 Boxster Brunch and Test Drive Event at Porsche of Tampa (July 16)

Resentful towards captivity. A statement never more truely spoken than when about the new 718 Boxster. Its unbridled confidence in the corners comes courtesy of its track-bred mid-engine layout. And its new 300hp turbocharged flat-four engine sends it from 0-60 in a mere 4.5 seconds. Light. Nimble. And with a majority of its weight resting squarely where higher powers have long intended it – the center- it squeezes every ounce of fun our of every inch of pavement. Porsche. There is no substitute. Be the first to test drive the Porsche 718 at the Porsche of Tampa Brunch & Test Drive event. 8:30am-1pm. Click HERE to RSVP. Porshce of Tampa, 103 East Fowler Avenue.

Summer Classics Movie Series: Notorious at Tampa Theatre
You could, if you wanted to, divide Alfred Hitchcock’s career as a director into two halves: before Notorious, and after it. He is firing on all cylinders here, putting together the first movie in his filmography that has all of the visual hallmarks of later Hitchcock; he famously storyboarded every shot completely, and it shows. Ingrid Bergman as a suffering woman, recruited by a spy she loves (Cary Grant) to manipulate an enemy who loves her. Unbelievable cinematography, a gut-punch of a screenplay; Notorious is a master class in tension and suspense. USF film professor Harriet Deer will lead a short discussion of Notorious immediately after the film. The session is free and open to the public. 3pm. Tickets are $10 online. Tampa Theatre, 711 North Franklin Street.
