Uber, Downtowner, TECO Streetcar Offer Free Rides During CFB Playoff

The College Football National Championship game puts the spotlight on the city of Tampa. Massive crowds are expected to arrive downtown to enjoy all of the free and ticketed events happening at Curtis Hixon Park, the Tampa Convention Center, the Florida Aquarium and Amalie Arena. To help residents and visitors alike access all that there is to do public transit and ride sharing services are offering free rides — within city limits.

Connect to Ybor, Channelside and Downtown in Style

The TECO Line Streetcar will offer free service from Friday, January 6 through Monday, January 9. The Streetcar connects Ybor City, The Channel District and Downtown Tampa. The service runs from 7am-1:30am on Friday; 11am-1:30am on Saturday; and noon-1am on Sunday.

Uber and AT&T Partner to Connect Fans to All the Football Action

Uber, in partnership with AT&T, will offer free trips for riders within Tampa city limits. Roughly 20 Uber vehicles will offer the service around town Saturday through Monday from 11am-7pm. When using the Uber app, local riders just have to select the FOOTBALL option to receive their free ride. The cars will be equipped with WiFi to live stream football games courtesy of AT&T.

Local Ride Service Continues Free Rides

The Downtowner Shuttle Service will offer free rides to downtown visitors, as always. The service connect from the Tampa Riverwalk to the Florida Aquarium. Downtowner cars operate from 6am-11pm on Friday and Monday, and 11am-11pm Saturday and Sunday. Visit their website for details.
