SOtampa Sampler: TPA Breaks Passenger Record, Swann Avenue Opens

TPA boasts 3.8 million passengers in March and April

The Tampa International Airport is a lightning rod for good news. On May 15, the airport announced that between March and April, 3.8 million passengers passed through its terminals. The previous record was set in 2007.

The increase in passengers could be due to the airports glowing national reputation. An enhanced restaurant and retail selection throughout its terminals coupled with new nonstop routes to premier cities in the US and abroad could account for the influx of travelers.
