ResortPass

The food scene is blowing up in Tampa. Our stomachs can hardly keep up with the litany of new concepts primed to expand the palates of eager diners downtown and around the city. New announcements add mini hints of flair and prestige to our waterfront area, and the ever-emerging stretch of Franklin Street.

All-American Comfort Food on the Waterfront

American Social Bar and Kitchen offers a gargantuan selection of craft brews, along with a refined list of craft cocktails and comfort food favorites. It’s a casual fine dining restaurant with comfortable indoor and outdoor seating.

From chicken and waffles and BBQ pulled pork flatbreads, to fried shrimp tacos and black truffle melts, this concept has an item for all tastes and appetites. It will open this July at 601 South Harbour Island Boulevard.

The restaurant has two other locations, one in Las Olas and another in Brickell. American Social Bar is famous for their Social Hour, which gives guests half off all drinks behind the bar from 4-7pm Monday through Friday. Follow the concept on their website and Facebook page for updates.

Sliders on Franklin Street

The Element is home to Kahwa Coffee, Duckweed Urban Grocery, Paddy and Friends and Earl of Sandwich. Soon, the downtown apartment tower will add Burgerim to its roster.

Burgerim began in 2011 to wild acclaim. By 2013, 80 franchises spread across the country. Their intimate location on Franklin Street puts them at the heart of Tampa development.

Diners choose from Dry Aged Beef, Wagyu beef, Merguez, Turkey, Lamb, Chicken, Salmon, Veggie and Chorizo. You can add a salad and/or thick cut fries to your order. Soon, the restaurant will be stocked with gluten-free buns for those with an intolerance/allergy and currently serves a flourless chocolate cake dessert.

The official address is 808 North Franklin Street. Follow them on their website and Facebook page for updates.

Burger Culture on North Howard

Back in 2016, Burger Culture announced that they’d be expanding in the city of Tampa. An unassuming banner on North Howard Avenue by the new JCC seems to signal the imminent arrival of the Burger Juggernaut.

An opening date has not been set just yet for their space on the 400 Block of N. Howard next to Raw Smoothie Co. We can’t wait to enjoy savory waffle burgers and avocado grilled cheese sandwiches a little closer to home. Keep up with their expansion plans on their website and Facebook page.
