Lightning Rumored to Host 2018 NHL All-Star Game

Even when they’re not on the ice, the Lightning are wracking up major wins. While the new hasn’t officially been confirmed, multiple sources are speculating that Amalie Arena will be the site of the 2018 NHL All-Star Game.

Tampa Bay is no stranger to major sports events. The city has welcomed the College Football National Championship, the Frozen Four, the Superbowl and the NCAAW Final Four with great success in the past.

Tampa Bay Lightning fans harbor a feverish love for their Bolts. The opportunity to watch the best of Tampa Bay share the ice with the premier athletes in NHL in our city is a prospect sure to electrify both diehard and casual fans.

The league and the team have yet to comment on the speculation. The Lightning last hosted the All Star Game in 1999. The city has changed considerably since that time. Officials and local businesses alike would love for the chance to once again showcase the growth of Tampa to visitors across the country. For further details, see Yahoo Sports original report.
