City Council Meeting on Potential Dog Park in Seminole Heights

Tampa consistently ranks as one of the top pet-friendly cities in the country. Most restaurants downtown and around the greater Tampa area feature dog-friendly outdoor seating. Many of the local breweries allow you to unwind with your pet while you sample the latest Tampa-inspired craft beer. Spots like Square 1 even offer a menu just for dogs.

Big plans for Seminole Heights

The renaissance of Tampa’s downtown has spread all the way to Seminole Heights. This surge has brought more businesses, jobs and residents to all of our city’s neighborhoods. Seminole Heights is rapidly becoming the place to be in Tampa. Residents new and old have come together to propose and off-leash dog park/bar for the neighborhood.

Residents announced plans for the park and bar back in May of 2016. The City Council is set to discuss the project at a meeting on Thursday, March 23. That meeting begins at 6pm. The proposed 30,000 sq. ft. park, if approved, would take over a plot of land at 4211 North Nebraska Avenue.

Rally to help make dog park and bar a reality

The group behind the Seminole Heights Dog Park and Bar is hosting an event prior to the meeting at Brew Bus Brewing (4101 North Florida Avenue). Attendees will enjoy a free beer and t-shirt, along with a ride on the Brew Bus to the meeting. You can learn more about the event on Facebook. This is your chance to help champion the next great addition to the Seminole Heights neighborhood.
